NATIVE AMERICAN LAW STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) articulates and promotes the professional needs and goals of Native Law Students and their allies; fosters and encourages professional competence; focuses upon the relationship of the Native American Law Student, the Native American Attorney and their allies to the American legal structure; installs in every attorney and law student a greater awareness and commitment to the needs of the Native American community; influences the legal community to bring about meaningful change to meet the needs of the Native American community; adopts and implements a policy of economic independence; encourages Native American law students to pursue careers in the judiciary; and does all things necessary and appropriate to accomplish these purposes. 

NALSA’s mission includes promoting diversity among MSU College of Law by volunteering in local indigenous activities, participating in conferences and participating in local diversity programs within the MSU community. NALSA strives to promote the academic and professional achievement of the students within the organization to ensure success among the membership.
